Gemini Notebook: edit slides and video overviews before they’re made
The former NotebookLM gives you more control over decks and video overviews: agree on the plan first, then start generating.
Google has updated Gemini Notebook, called NotebookLM until July. Slides and video overviews used to go straight from a prompt to the finished output, but now you can agree on the content first. The change comes from user feedback.
What’s new
- Steer the content. Ask for slides or a video overview in chat. Notebook suggests topics from your sources, and after you confirm, you can adjust the content, visual style and format.
- Review before rendering. Turn on the Review toggle. The plan appears in the Studio panel under “Review outline notes” for slides or “Review producer notes” for video. You can ask for an executive summary or reordered scenes, then click Proceed.
- Quick path. With the Review toggle off, everything works as before.
How to try it
If you already know what you want, say so in your prompt, and Notebook moves on to reviewing the plan. Google is rolling this out to all users over a week.
Limitations
The rollout is gradual, so you may not see the toggle yet. As before, output quality depends on the sources in your notebook.
